Carrier API · For shipping companies

Connect your shipping company to the Seto marketplace through an API

Seto is a Libyan auto-parts marketplace. Connect your own system and receive Seto delivery orders automatically in the cities you cover, update their status, collect cash on delivery, and receive a monthly statement.

What the API does

The whole shipment lifecycle, from your system

From the shipment offer to delivery, cash collection, and the monthly statement, without double entry across two systems.

Shipments offered automatically

Every delivery order in a city you cover reaches you as a shipment offer. Accept or reject it, optionally set a pickup window and courier when you accept, and release it before pickup if needed.

Status events end to end

Picked up, in transit, out for delivery, delivered, failed attempt, rescheduled, returned. The buyer and seller see every update in the Seto app, in Arabic.

Delivery confirmed by the buyer's code

Delivery is confirmed with the six-digit code the buyer holds.

Proof of delivery

Upload proof of delivery for a shipment straight from your system.

Cash on delivery

Reconcile the cash collected on delivery and report its remittance.

Company setup through the API

Branches, service points, coverage, pricing, and availability, all managed from your system.

Signed webhooks and an event feed

Events reach your server as signed webhooks, and a pull feed, GET /events, lets you recover anything you missed.

Monthly fee statement

A monthly statement of the fees due from your company.

How onboarding works

From agreement to full rollout

You start in Sandbox with synthetic data. Real orders only reach you after certification and approval.

  1. Step 1: Agreement with Seto

Contact us at shipping@seto.ly or fill in the carrier survey (Arabic).

  2. Step 2: Sandbox invitation

Seto sends a one-time invitation link to your technical owner. Opening it creates your API credentials and shows the secret once only.

  3. Step 3: Build and test in Sandbox

Create test shipments from the portal, walk them through every status, then register and verify your webhook receiver. The Postman collection and OpenAPI file are downloadable from the docs.

  4. Step 4: Certification

The portal shows a checklist computed from real server evidence. When it is complete, you request approval.

  5. Step 5: Seto review and Production invitation

Seto reviews and approves, then sends a separate Production invitation. Sandbox credentials never work in Production.

  6. Step 6: Trial operation

20 operating days and at least 10 real shipments before full rollout.

Security

Security built into the integration from day one

Buyer data, your shipments, and your company account are protected by clear layers your technical team can review.

Access and permissions

  • OAuth 2.0 client credentials.
  • Access tokens signed with Ed25519, with a ten-minute lifetime.
  • Least-privilege scopes per client.
  • Optional source IP allowlist, enforced on the token endpoint and the portal.
  • HTTPS only.
  • Separate credentials per environment.
  • Secrets are shown once, and Seto never asks for them by email or WhatsApp.

Safe operations

  • Every write takes an Idempotency-Key, so retries never double-apply.
  • Per-client rate limits.
  • The delivery code locks after repeated wrong attempts.
  • The contract is versioned, and changes are additive only.

Webhooks and data

  • Webhooks signed with HMAC-SHA256 over the timestamp, delivery id, and body.
  • Secret rotation with an overlap window.
  • Buyer personal data minimised: full recipient details only after you accept, masked once the shipment is finished.
  • Each carrier sees only its own shipments.
